A thoughtful starting point for urology care in South Korea
Plan your visit · South Korea

Prepare for the whole visit.

A clear plan covers the consultation and the care that follows. Use this checklist for a local appointment or a trip to Korea.

Before choosing a clinic

Identify the symptom or previous finding you want assessed. Use the clinic and doctor profiles to check clinical relevance. Ask whether an outpatient clinic can manage the issue or whether hospital assessment may be necessary.

Before booking

Confirm the treating clinician, appointment language, interpreter or chaperone needs, consultation cost and whether tests carry separate fees. Ask for a secure way to share records and confirm the current appointment address.

What to bring

Bring a dated symptom summary, medicines and allergies, previous test reports and relevant imaging. If requested, bring a private bladder diary. Keep original copies and translations together. Do not change medicines or fast unless the clinical team gives instructions for the specific test.

Before a procedure

Request the diagnosis, alternatives, expected benefit, material risks and written estimate. Clarify anesthesia, escort requirements, catheter or stent use, recovery restrictions and how complications are handled. Allow time to consider elective choices.

Before leaving Korea

Obtain your reports, medicines by generic name and aftercare instructions. Confirm outstanding results, device removal dates, the next review and who can take over care at home. Ask the treating clinician when flying is appropriate for your recovery.

Costs and insurance

Ask for consultation, investigations, treatment, medicines, devices and follow-up to be itemized. Confirm any interpretation or record-translation charges. Verify reimbursement directly with your insurer; an estimate or receipt does not establish coverage.

Do not wait for a planned trip if you have urgent symptoms. Seek appropriate local assessment.
